INSECTICIDE RESISTANCE

Two video tutorials and supportive information are proposed by the Worldwide Insecticide Resistance Network (WIN)

“WHO filter paper test to assess insecticide susceptibility in sandflies” (32:54)

The purpose of this video is to describe the “step by step” process to follow in the evaluation of insecticide susceptibility in sand-flies using the WHO diagnostic kit (or tube test). The video includes also key information on how to record mortality/KD data and to proceed to decontamination of test kits after used.

“WHO filter paper impregnation” (28:40)

The purpose of this video is to provide detailed instructions on the impregnation of Whatman filter papers with insecticides for use in WHO tube test to determine insecticide resistance for flying insects such as sandflies and mosquitoes

SPECIES IDENTIFICATION

Simplified key to identify genera of mosquitoes in a poster format

Developed by the medical entomology group of the MediLabSecure project in collaboration with IRD and the University of Novi Sad in Serbia. This educational and practical tool is intended to help people, who are entomologists or not, to facilitate the identification of the 7 genera of mosquitoes at larva and adult stage in Europe, North Africa and Middle-East Regions.
