Short description: Personalized training with access to field sites (rural and wetland) where control programs for autochthonous mosquito species (Ae. caspius, Ae. sticticus, Cx. pipiens, An. maculipenniis, Cq. richardii, Cq. buxtoni) are in place, to evaluate different approaches. All the sites are located in the canton Ticino (southern Switzerland) and include the Ramsar site Fondazione Bolle di Magadino and agricultural lands..
Specific service description:
Personalized training in to conduct specific studies for pilot trials evaluating integrated control measures for invasive mosquito control.
Services offered:
- Field site access with technical assistance and/or practical training for mosquito vector control interventions.
- Field study design and best practices for an integrated vector control program.
- Understanding of integrated control methodologies and when to apply them.
- Setting up traps for adult and immature mosquito stages survey.
- Quality control on larvicide and adulticides: survey of breeding sites pre and post-treatment and data interpretation.
- Identification of vectors using morphological and molecular (MALDI-TOF MS and PCR) tools.
