Short description: Personalized Training with access to field sites and laboratory facilities to evaluate suitable trapping and surveillance methodologies in urban and peri-urban sites with exotic invasive species of mosquito (Aedes albopictus, Ae. japonicus, and Ae. koreicus).
The field sites are located in Southern Switzerland (canton Ticino).

Technical assistance on surveillance of mosquitoes in urban environment
Services offered:
- Field site access with technical assistance and/or practical training for research on the surveillance of invasive mosquitoes.
- Identification and characterisation of suitable sites for the presence of adult and larval stages.
- Larval collection.
- Setting up traps (BG sentinel, ovitraps, GAT)
- Collection and storage of individuals captured.
- Identification of adults, larval, and egg stages using morphological and molecular (MALDI-TOF MS, PCR) tools
- Data interpretation and discussion.
Please note that for requesters from outside Europe the visa process can take four months or longer, so to be sure to apply well in advance of mosquito season.
